Chit Win prepares for a mission along the border, packing supplies and medicines purchased by Planet Care.The backpack medics hike in mobile medical teams for hours, even days, to reach remote villages and encampments in the hills of Burma, risking encounters with landmines or troops. Once in these villages, they are often the only option for medical care. Medics in the field perform amputations and treat malaria, as well as providing vitamins and advice.
Planet Care helps to fund the purchase of backpacks filled with medical supplies and medicines that the medics carry to treat the people who are sick and sometimes dying.
